She walked away from a group home. 18 days later, she was gone.

Emily Pike was fourteen years old, a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, living in a group home a hundred miles from her family in Mesa, Arizona. On January 27, 2025, she walked away on foot. Eighteen days later, hikers found her remains off Highway 60, near the San Carlos Apache Reservation. More than a year and a half later, no arrest has been made and no suspect has been publicly named.

This is the story of Emily's case: the institutional failures that placed her so far from home, the five-agency task force that formed within days, the lawsuit her family filed against the group home operator, the state law passed in her name, and the FBI's new nationwide initiative that named her case again this August.

The reward for information leading to an arrest stands at $75,000.
